No more VA!

Hey!!! It's my last day of school forever and ever!!! I'm so happy that I don't have to go to the stinky VA anymore. That place makes my stomach sick...bleh. Today was such a good day to just get over. This morning I had a class 5 patient. He was SO nice too! Then this afternoon I had another 5. He was a really nice guy too. Well, that's about it. I'm just so happy to be graduating!!! bye

LAST DAY OF CLINIC FOREVER!!!

Wow, I can't believe it's actually over! That went by so dang fast. This morning, my board patient came in. I'm so happy she's going to be my patient. She is SO nice and reliable and willing to do anything...AND she speaks English. That's a plus. I cleaned a quad and had 3 instructors check her calculus so I could figure out which quad to do. This afternoon I did 2 quads of a 4 and now I'm done with those! Yay!! I never thought I would actually get to this point. Well, I still have to go to the VA on Thursday but that should be a breeze :)

Not 1, but TWO!

Hey!! Today was a crazy, but a good day!! This morning I did 2 quads of a 4 and now I just need 2 more quads that are coming next week. This afternoon I ended up seeing 2 kids and then Des came over and had a board patient for me! So I went over there and gave her my spill and then I had a guy coming in that Sheryl and Katherine screened for me. Well, he ended up being a board too!!! So I'm going to keep Des' patient and the man is probably going to be Michaelene's! Good news..I may actually get through this whole process after all.

Hey, so I didn't end up having anyone this morning but I did have someone come this afternoon but her BP was 170/100!! So I had to excuse her :( Then I found a lady that had been in to see Midtown but she had to leave at 2:15, so I quickly screened her, but no luck for boards. She's missing most of her molars. One more day down...bye

Another no show..

You know, it's surprising that I've been able to get (almost) all of my requirements finished this semester with the number of no-shows I've had! This whole day I have this one guy scheduled who I was hoping is a class 4. I want him to show so I can get the requirements out of the way, but then I don't want him to show because he bugs me!!! He is all about ME paying for everything. When we had our mockboard in February, my patient no showed (imagine that!) and then this guy was sitting in the waiting room because he had an appt with Midtown. After begging him to be my patient and offering to pay for the treatment, he ended up having to leave to go to another doctor. The dentist asked me if there's a class 7, because his condition was so bad....so I'm thinking..yes!!!! He's a 4! After this, I scheduled him and he wanted me to pay for his treatment. I told him that I'd pay for half of it and that's it. So then he goes on and on about how special he is because he helps the Spanish community out so much all the time and does so much service and what a great guy he is! It came time for his first appt with me and he canceled on me last minute. I rescheduled him for all of today and asked him if that would be ok. He told me as long as I bought him lunch. I quickly said NO to that, but he said he'd still come. Geez, does he not realize I'm saving him about $600 by him coming to see me?!?!! I guess not. Well, now I'm just standing here at my empty chair :) I'm kinda ok with him not coming.

Another day at the VA

Ok, so today was pretty uneventful at the VA. I don't have any gross stories to tell. I got 4 quads of a 5 and 1 quad of a 4! That's all..

So much for a mockboard...

Hey! So today I pretty much lost my board patient. He was supposed to be my mockboard buuuut he no showed on me...AGAIN! Too bad, but I just can't trust him so I've gotta find someone else. I think the worst thing about the whole board is getting your patient there!! I can clean teeth, but I can't make a patient show. It's so frustrating! Well, I called everyone I could possibly think of and I finally got a family friend to come in. I was kinda hoping he'd qualify for board, buuuut he didn't :) Oh well. I think everyone should pray. Really hard.
