Happy December

Hey, it's our second to last clinic day today!!!! Tuesday was my last day at the VA until March. I am so excited! It's such a relief to have all of my requirements met so I'm not stressing out about it. On Tuesday I saw a 1B and one quad of a 2. My 1B had some dental anxiety. I don't know what it was about him, but every time I would touch him with an instrument, his eyes would go all funky and it looked like he was going to pass out. I'd bring my hands out of his mouth and then he would be fine!! It was so weird! :P kinda funny. My other patient just had one quad to finish. When he told me he needed to be numb, it totally made my day!!! This was my first real patient experience giving anesthesia. It was so fun. I love it. If I could give people shots all day, I would be so cool with that.

Today I had 2 1B's. In the morning I had one of my friends and I was able to pass off 2 PE's on him. This afternoon I had a girl off of the resource list. She was really really nice..I did a horrible job though!!! I seriously missed probably 5 spots. It's funny how you can clean a class 3 and have nothing left over but have so much left on a 1B...how does that work??!!? Oh well. So now I have to go to stats tonight and I'm so not excited about it. I can't wait to be done with that class!!!!

Gobble Gobble in just 2 days!

Can I just begin by saying that I absolutely love Thanksgiving?? I seriously can't wait for it!! So today was my 6th out of 7 times at the VA. I am beginning to be really negative about it. I just would rather not go :) hee hee. If I was choosing between there and clinic at school, I would rather be at the VA, though. I'm done with all of my quads and extra quads I think, so I should be good. So then I have no motivation. Well, anyway...I had Neil Diamond's look-alike today. He was dressed the part and he's also a singer! Ha! He gave me his card which, now that I think about it, I left it at the VA..oops. He's a VJ and a KJ. He was telling me how he'd sung with all these famous people. He was way nice. So in the afternoon, I had a really young guy in his 20's. I felt bad for him because he told me that both of his parents had died of cancer :( The poor guy. I also was kinda sad for him because I think he's done a lot of drugs..you know how you can just tell by the way people talk? Well and besides that, it says that he smokes pot in his HHX...anyway, 1 more day to go at the VA and I can hardly wait to be done!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Well hello again! This past Thursday wasn't too bad in clinic. I had 2 1B patients..easy! My main goal was to get some PE's passed off, and I did just that. In the morning I did the accessory fulcrums. Then in the afternoon I had a friend coming, so of course I had to do those odd ones like the caries risk assessment and glucose testing. I'm feeling a lot better about all the PE's but I really want to get as many finished this semester as I can so I have less to do next semester. Besides that, I want to get them done with the Thursday faculty. I've heard stories ;)So anyway, I'm finishing my paper today that is due on Monday and I'm going to the symphony in SLC tonight. I can't wait!!!! I should take my camera, huh.

Only 2 more days at the VA!!!

Hey! So today was probably my least favorite day at the VA. I'm not really sure why, but it just was. I did get my last required quads done..yayy!!! I just need one more extra quad for an A! I really have been so lucky to get what I've needed so quickly this semester. You know, if you at all can avoid dealing with the jerk at the front desk at the VA, do it! He was so rude to me. He laughed in my face, all while the patient was standing there. I'm tired of dealing with jerks. What is it with some people? I just can't figure out why the heck everyone is so ornery these days with me. Well, whatever. I'm going to bed

November 9th :)

Hey! Well today was pretty uneventful in clinic. This morning we had a lab and this afternoon I ended up with a class 3 patient that I was going to give away but then she had a cold sore, so she'll have to come back. I did get bitewings on her, so that is so great.

Tuesday at the VA was awesome! I got 4 quads of a class 2 so now I only need 4 more. Then I got my last 4 quads of a 5! It was great. I had very nice patients and now I just need 4 quads total and I'm done with all my requirements!!! I still need to work on PE's though. I have stats tonight and I just really don't want to go. 3 more weeks of clinic. I can't believe this semester has flown by so quickly!!!!

Boards...here we come!

Ok, so not quite yet, but I found a board patient today!!! Isn't that so awesome??!! So today was kinda sucky. Let me first tell you about the VA..In the morning I got 4 quads of a 3 and then the afternoon, I got 4 quads of a 5. I needed both...and now I'm done with my 3's!! I sure am excited about that! It was a pretty good day. I just hate taking xrays at the VA though. The digital sensor is so big and bulky. It's practically impossible to get the mesial of the 1st molar and the distal of the canine.

So today was really a fine day, but I got pulled over on my way to school by the biggest a-hole that I have ever met and then I had a stomach ache. I did get 4 quads of a 2 in the morning and then this afternoon, I just cleaned a little 7 year old. He was so cute! I had my patient scheduled but he ended up being a 3 so I gave one quad to Jalene since I didn't need anymore 3's...we just sorta swapped patients. Then he ended up being board material, so he is mine! I went to lunch with the cowboy today too, so that was kinda fun. So tonight we had stats class that went on forever!! I don't really understand it and we have a test that I'm taking on Saturday. I hate that I don't understand it :( I wonder if I have ulcers or something. My stomach has been just icky feeling for the past 2 days. I need some sleep. I'm done with school. Semesters need to be 10 weeks instead of 15.
